Glamping Zarja is above the Vipava Valley in Slovenia, at Podkraj 108, 5273 Col. It sits in unspoiled nature at around 1,000 metres above sea level, with extraordinary views over the surrounding mountains, forests and pastures.

Yes. You are only about 15 minutes by car from Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle, but you sleep in quiet nature in wooden cottages with a natural lake, wellness and homemade food.
Are there many mosquitoes?
Thanks to the high-altitude setting there is virtually no mosquito problem.
Does Glamping Zarja have its own farm?
Yes. We have our own ecological farm, which supplies eggs, meat, vegetables, potatoes and flour, depending on the season.
What is homemade at breakfast?
Breakfast features eggs from our farm, homemade pancakes, homemade jams and homemade bread made with flour from our own farm, served with tea or coffee.
Is dinner available?
Yes. Our small restaurant serves farm-to-table dishes: homemade pasta made from our flour, our own meat, vegetables from our garden and crispy potatoes, complemented by seasonal ingredients from local producers in the Vipava Valley. The restaurant is seasonal, so please check current opening dates with us.
Are the meat and vegetables really from your farm?
Yes, depending on season and availability. What we do not produce ourselves comes from local producers in the Vipava Valley.
Can guests cook for themselves?
Yes. Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, and there is a summer kitchen by the lake where you can also cook over an open fire. A complimentary open guest kitchen and barbecue are available to all guests.
How many cottages are there?
Four new wooden cottages: Family House 1 (2+2), House 2 with SPA (2 guests), Family House 3 (2+2) and House 4 with IR sauna (2+1).
Is Glamping Zarja suitable for families?
Yes. Both family houses sleep 2+2 guests, and the lake offers plenty of space for children to play and explore.
Is Glamping Zarja suitable for couples?
Yes. Our houses for couples feature private wellness, such as a IR sauna and jacuzzi. Please check each house’s page for its exact equipment.
What do the cottages include?
Every cottage has its own private entrance and big terrace (20 m²). The interior is 35 m² and is designed as an open-plan space with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a sleeping area. The bathroom is separated. The cottages have floor heating, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
What are the cottages made of?
They are built from timber from our own forest, for an eco-friendly and sustainable stay.
Do you have a swimming pool?
We have a natural swimming lake with a wooden beach rather than a conventional pool. It is also a paradise for children.
Do you have a sauna?
Yes. Two of the cottages have a private infrared sauna. All guests can also use our small wellness area with a wood-fired Finnish sauna beside the lake, which is complimentary and available from September to May.
Can I rent an e-bike?
Yes. We rent electric mountain bikes and offer Bike & Hike experiences around the area.
Can I cycle to Predjama Castle?
Predjama Castle is one of our cycling destinations. Suitability depends on your fitness, the weather and the route you choose.
What can I do at Glamping Zarja?
Swim in the lake, enjoy the sauna and wellness, hike, cycle, spend evenings by the fire, stargaze, relax at our meditation viewpoint and see pastures with horses and cows.
Are pets allowed?
No.
Are parties allowed?
No. Glamping Zarja is a peaceful nature retreat, so we ask guests not to organise parties, birthday celebrations, stag or hen parties or similar large-group events.
How much does a night cost?
Approximate cottage rates are €150 per night in low season, €195 in middle season and €295 in high season. Rates are for accommodation only and exclude breakfast (€12,5) and the cleaning fee (€30). The booking form shows the exact price for your dates.
